Creating better engineering solutions starts with the right mindset

"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." (Albert Einstein). This seems true - finding new, improved ways of thinking and working means developing a new mindset. Continuing to improve what you are doing. Not settling for doing things a certain way because that’s how it has always been done. Discovering ways to work better and more efficiently.

At Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis, we are great believers in continuous improvement. We continue to develop our solutions, look for better ways for engineers to commit their daily tasks, and find new approaches to existing challenges in the industry. It’s more of a mindset and attitude than anything else. The latest examples of these developments include the announcements of the new 2016 versions of Visual Vessel Design and TANK! You can download / watch webinars to learn more about the latest improvements in the software.

We also have some new examples of how we’ve worked together with our customers to improve work processes and enhance efficiency. You can read more about how Italian engineering company STI Engineering designed a waste-to-energy plant, and lowered engineering software cost up to 60%. Similarly, you can learn how WorleyParsons Resources & Energy, Abu Dhabi improved efficiency while executing FEED engineering  and developing upstream facilities and infrastructure to support the production of 1.2 million barrels of oil per day.

In addition, I would like to remind you of the upcoming HxGN LOCAL CAU Houston 2016. You can join on September 19-20 at Houston to become more productive by discovering new ways of working with the CADWorx & Analysis solutions.

CADWorx P&ID quickly adopts any AutoCAD symbol

ECE Design is hosting a free CADWorx 2016 symbol editing webinar on Wednesday, June 15 from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. CST.

One of the great features of CADWorx P&ID is it's ability to quickly adopt just about any AutoCAD symbol.  Moreover it is possible to save groups of symbols for 'typical details'.

Come witness how to configure the CADWorx P&ID Symbol menu to put your standard AutoCAD blocks to use in a drafting tool build for producing diagrams.

TANK Webinar: What's New in TANK 2016

We would like to invite you to join Scott Mayeux for this informative webinar on the latest version of TANK.

TANK 2016 represents a major update of the complete software solution for the design, analysis, and evaluation of storage tanks. Attend this webinar to learn about code updates and calculations, new features, and user interface improvements. Discover the key benefits of the new TANK 2016 coming soon.

TANK enables the analysis of oil storage tanks to several American Petroleum Institute (API) standards. The new release now supports the new API 620 code, including nozzle calculations, material database, and insulation on roofs. In addition, TANK includes enhanced API 650 code functionality, other calculation enhancements, and stainless steel materials.

Numerous user interface improvements are provided, such as easier navigation to the material properties or material database. The latest version of TANK also offers cleaner output reports, reorganized output, and tables in output.

We look forward to having you join us.

Novi CADWorx 2016

Why deploy CADWorx 2016?

One very compelling reason is the new material assignment table feature.
It can reduce the number of items in piping specifications by 75%.
Engineers, CAD Admins and users of CADWorx PLANT are all going to benefit from this feature.

All of us have had to have multiple entries for pipe and fittings because over the size range material spec and grade change.  Prior to CADWorx 2016 we had to have a separate items for each material.  For example, it was not uncommon to have up to 5 materials from 1/2" to 36" pipe in a pressure class piping spec; A106, X42, X60, X65, etc.  Those days are over!

Now the material assignment table enables us to have only one line in our spec.
Please join us this week an witness how powerful this new feature is and how it can simplify your next pipe spec building effort.

Please join us this Wednesday June 8 from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. CST.
